Donald Trump's administration has unveiled plans to build a monumental arch called "Trump Arch" in Washington, an ambitious and controversial project that aims to reshape the landscape of the US capital.
The proposed monument will reach about 76 meters in height, making it taller than the US Capitol and the Lincoln Memorial. The design includes gold elements, a torch and a crown similar to Lady Liberty.
According to the White House, the plans have been submitted to the Fine Arts Commission for review. The project is expected to be partially funded by public funds through the National Endowment for the Humanities, with about $15 million initially committed.
The released images show a structure with the inscription "One Nation Under God," adorned with golden eagles and lion statues. According to the administration, the arch will symbolize the historic sacrifices of Americans and serve as a monumental entry point into the city.
Trump has stated that the project was inspired by the Arc de Triomphe in Paris.
