Pakistan's new proposal for the Strait of Hormuz
Specifically, according to the publication, which quotes a Pakistani official, the plan stipulates that Iran will allow free passage through the Strait "in exchange for the partial lifting of sanctions imposed by the United States."
The report cites "cautious optimism" in Pakistan regarding the proposal, with the country having assumed the role of a key mediator between Iran and the US.
The same source added that contacts with Tehran are continuing, but so far there has been no response from the Iranian side.
