Another tragedy at sea has been recorded off the Italian coast, a few hours after the one in Turkey.
Local media report that a boat carrying migrants has sunk near Lampedusa, leaving 19 people dead and several others in critical condition.
Five migrants, including a child, are in critical condition. The survivors were urgently transferred to the outpatient clinic on the Italian island. Their condition is critical and doctors are trying to stabilize them, according to media reports.
It is suspected that the migrants died from hypothermia.
Today, a boat carrying migrants sank in Bodrum, Turkey, with several deaths reported and several others rescued.
