The Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague have announced the composition of the Appeals Court panel that will review the case against former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army, Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi.
The appointment of the panel follows the first-instance verdict announced on September 16, against which the parties have the right to pursue appeal procedures.
According to the announcement, judges Kai Ambos, Michèle Picard and Nina Jørgensen have been appointed to the Appeals Panel, while the reserve judge is Emilio Gatti.
The panel will review the claims raised at the appeal stage and the arguments presented by the parties regarding the first instance decision.
Thaçi, Veseli, Selimi and Krasniqi were found guilty in the first instance of several war crimes charges, while they were found not guilty of charges of crimes against humanity.
The decision of September 16 is not final and the process is now continuing at the Appeals level.
