FIFA President Gianni Infantino has said Iran will participate in the World Cup, despite uncertainty over whether the team will travel to the United States, where most of its group matches are scheduled.
Earlier this month, Donald Trump had said it would not be "appropriate" for Iran to participate, citing the risk to the team's security.
Iran had requested that its matches be moved to Mexico, while last week the Iranian sports ministry banned national teams from traveling to countries it considers hostile, without directly mentioning the World Cup.
