Russian President Vladimir Putin said today that the recent tensions in Iran are directly reflected in international energy markets, particularly affecting the transport of oil and gas through the Strait of Hormuz, one of the most strategic corridors in the world.
During a video message to participants of the International Transport and Logistics Forum, Putin stressed that the geopolitical situation in the Middle East is bringing new shocks to key sectors of the global economy.
He expressed that Russia is ready to offer solutions and take an important role in building a new architecture for logistics and international trade, at a time when the current system is facing serious challenges.
"Russia can offer the world sustainable solutions and play a key role in creating a new global structure for logistics and trade," the Russian president declared.
Putin noted that the transport and logistics sectors have become more exposed to political tensions, reflecting instability in the international economy. According to him, successive crises are making it even more necessary to reorganize these systems at the global level.
