The Pentagon has asked the White House to approve a request to the US Congress for more than $200 billion to fund military operations against Iran.
According to the Washington Post report, citing a senior administration official, the funds are intended to support expanded military efforts as the conflict continues to escalate.
Meanwhile, in an interview with Sky News, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated that so far the war has cost the United States about $11 billion.
The new request signals a much greater financial and military commitment from the US, at a time when tensions with Iran continue to rise.
