At least 16 permits that have passed the National Council of Territory and Water in the meeting of July 17 foresee construction projects with a height of 15 floors and more, where most of them are concentrated in Tirana, while another part is related to coastal areas. Meanwhile, the same panorama is also presented in the meeting of July 30 and August 13. (See the full list of decisions in the last 3 meetings of the KKTU at the end of the news)
The decisions are for development permits, construction or revision of existing ones and include residential buildings, service structures, hotels and complexes with combined functions. The approved list is dominated by multi-storey buildings in the capital, which include some of the tallest projects.
Among the tallest projects is the Garda Tower, with 43 floors above ground, for which a review of conditions during construction has been requested, while M-21 envisages a service and residential building with 26 floors above ground.
In Tirana, Elite Tower with structures up to 24 floors, Vertical Village with up to 23 floors, as well as other residential and service projects with 15 to 19 floors have also been approved.
The list of new projects also includes the development of the “Selman Stermasi” Stadium Revitalization, which envisages two separate structures: a 23-story service and hotel structure and a 25-story service and residential structure. This project is part of the initiative launched by the government through the Albanian Investment Corporation.
Apart from Tirana, some of the projects with significant height are concentrated in coastal areas.
In Durrës, a residential and service complex with 20-21 floors has been approved, while in Vlora, permits have been granted for buildings with up to 16 floors. In the Shëngjin area, the “Duna” project, a service and residential building with 1-15 floors above ground, has also been approved.
In addition to the multi-storey building projects, a series of permits for infrastructure and energy investments were also reviewed and approved at the meeting of the National Council for Territory and Water.
The energy sector includes several projects for electricity production, including hydroelectric power plants and photovoltaic plants with various capacities ranging up to tens of megawatts.
