Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei condemned on social media the destruction of a synagogue in central Tehran and the desecration of Torah scrolls, calling the attack unacceptable.
“The attack on this beautiful synagogue – like attacks on mosques, churches, schools, hospitals, residential areas and industrial infrastructure – is condemned by all Iranians,” he said. “Iranians are united and determined to defend their homeland.”
On the other hand, the Israeli army, in a post on its Persian-language account on the X network, expressed regret for the "collateral damage" to the synagogue, noting that it was damaged during an attack carried out on Tuesday evening against a senior commander.
