US intelligence estimates that Iran's new supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, is playing a crucial role in directing Tehran's military strategy and in negotiations with the United States.
According to reports, the son of former supreme leader Ali Khamenei is working closely with top Iranian leaders to manage the conflict and coordinate diplomatic talks with Washington.
Mojtaba Khamenei has not appeared in public since a major attack early in the war that wounded him and killed several of Iran's top military commanders. His absence from public view has fueled speculation about his health and his real influence in the country's leadership.
American intelligence sources emphasize that the authority structure within the Iranian regime still remains unclear, however Mojtaba Khamenei is considered one of the figures with the greatest influence in the decision-making process, especially for negotiations with the US to end the conflict.
On the other hand, Donald Trump's administration continues to seek a diplomatic solution, while tensions between the two countries remain high.
The report also emphasizes that Iran continues to maintain significant military capabilities and the ability to withstand a prolonged period of US blockade.
According to sources, Mojtaba Khamenei avoids the use of electronic devices and communicates only through direct meetings or couriers, making it very difficult for American services to track his location.
