Engjëll Cani, the father of Martin Cani, the minor who was stabbed to death by Mario Përlleshaj near the "Fan Noli" school, stated that he is dissatisfied with the sentence that the Court of Appeals gave to the perpetrator of the crime.
"What happened to us, should not happen to anyone. Our pain is very great and unimaginable. We expected more, a more severe sentence. The sentence was given for two criminal offenses. A young man can kill 50 people today with a bomb and be sentenced to 12 years in prison. As you know, there are two qualifying circumstances. Thank God there were no other children there. As for the perpetrator, Luis was wounded, while he killed Martin with a knife in the heart. Our pain is very great," said Engjëll Cani.
The Court of Appeal sentenced Mario Përlleshaj to 16 years in prison for the murder of Martin Cani and the wounding of Luis Meca.
