During his report before the Committee on Civic Initiatives, Cooperation and Institutional Oversight, the head of SPAK, Klodian Braho, was specifically asked who the politicians were who participated in the famous meeting in Aruba where alleged meetings of criminal groups and Albanian politicians were held for the purpose of laundering money through investments in construction and the alienation of properties.
Ivi Kaso: The file has been leaked to the media. At a minimum, you should make public who was at the meeting, left or right, with or without the prime minister's mandate in your pocket. The prime minister has said that SPAK should bring to light the forgery of properties on the coast. He has practically told you to investigate only the forgery, not who went to the meeting from the government and who benefited from this meeting in the offshore companies? You are hindered by this communication from the prime minister who publicly orients you that you should investigate in one direction, not 360 degrees.
Klodian Braho: We do not label files with such names, but with numbers and dates. I do not want to dwell on specific issues, because it is under investigation. I guarantee you that in SPAK it cannot happen that there is evidence in a file and that evidence is left there dormant and not reacted to. What is said is not evidence. When the investigations are completed, the institution can make a more complete transparency. We do not comment on the statements of any party or any person. For SPAK, everyone is equal before the law.
