New details have come to light from the investigations into the murder of Eglant Koç, a crime for which Armand Shakaj has been declared wanted.
According to investigative sources, after the incident that occurred on June 4, Shakaj is suspected of hiding for about 10 days in the Elbasan region, even changing his appearance to avoid identification by the authorities.
Investigations have revealed that he stayed in hotels and daily rented apartments in various areas of the district, where he is suspected of using forged identification documents when requested. He also did not use personal vehicles, but moved by taxi, in order to leave no trace.
According to the same sources, Shakaj is suspected of also taking refuge in the areas of Peqin and Cërrik, following the same modus operandi. These movements, according to the investigative group, were documented during verifications conducted after the crime.
At one point during the investigation, authorities managed to locate Shakaj's cell phone signal in the Elbasan region and organized several operations to capture him. However, he managed to escape police forces again, leaving the area before the intervention.
Armand Shakaj continues to be on the run, while investigators suspect that he is being helped by close people, who enable him to hide and maintain contact with him.
According to the investigation, on June 4, Shakaj allegedly killed his friend, Eglant Koçi, and then transported the body, which he threw in the Maja e Korrës area, at an altitude of about 1,450 meters, in the village of Cerrujë. Koçi's lifeless body was found by police about two weeks later.
