The Secretariat for Procedures, Voting and Ethics has decided to suspend the Democratic Party leader, Sali Berisha, from the Assembly for 10 days, while five other opposition MPs have been suspended for 60 days.
The decision was made this Friday, following tensions and incidents recorded during the plenary session of October 29, where opposition MPs blocked the rostrum, lit flares and used whistles, causing the interruption of parliamentary proceedings.
The Democratic MPs expelled for 60 days are Bledion Nallbati, Ivi Kaso, Blendi Himçi, Xhelal Mziu and Albana Vokshi.
Meanwhile, the 60-day exclusion measure for MP Klodiana Çapja was not approved, although this was requested by the Socialist Party.
The disciplinary measures came after a request filed by the Socialists, who accused Berisha of using unparliamentary language and inciting violence during his speech in the Assembly.
For the other five MPs, the request related to their actions during the session, including blocking the podium, using pyrotechnics, and throwing objects at the Speaker of the Assembly and government representatives.
