Iran has declared that it will not tolerate any attack without a response, accusing the US of a "blatant violation" of the ceasefire in the region. According to Iranian authorities, US forces have carried out attacks in Hormozgan province over the past 48 hours, despite the ceasefire agreement.
In an official response, Iran's Foreign Ministry stressed that the country will defend its sovereignty at all costs and will not hesitate to respond to any act of aggression.
On the other hand, US Central Command announced that the attacks were "defensive actions", undertaken to ensure the safety of American troops in the face of threats that, according to them, came from Iranian forces.
The situation has raised fears of further escalation of tensions between the two countries, while the ceasefire looks increasingly fragile.
