Traffic in the Llogara Tunnel will be free of charge until the end of the tourist season, specifically until September 15, according to sources from "Vizion Plus". After this date, users will have to pay a fee of 10 euros for a round trip by vehicle in this infrastructure work.
The 5.9-kilometer-long tunnel has significantly reduced the travel time from Dukati to Palasa, from the 45 minutes previously required to cross the Llogara Pass, to just 7 minutes.
The project includes two tunnels, one of which was built for emergencies, but the predictions are that, in the event of an increase in the flow of tourists, both tunnels will be used for normal traffic.
Payment management will be carried out by the National Road Operation Authority, a joint-stock company with state capital, represented by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy. This entity will take care of the operation of the automatic gates, maintenance, the charging system, and the distribution of tickets and monthly subscriptions for regular users.
With the launch of tolls at the Llogara Tunnel, there will be a total of three toll road segments in the country: Milot–Morinë, Thumanë–Kashar and Dukat–Palasë.
