Three employees of the Municipality of Vlora have been suspended from duty since December 19, 2025, after it is suspected that they colluded with each other to take fuel from work vehicles at the Waste Collection Point. Disciplinary proceedings have also been initiated against an employee of the Municipal Police in connection with this incident.
The event was recorded on December 19, 2025, when Municipal Police employee I.Dh. notified the Head of the EV Sector that the driver of an army truck, parked within the territory of the Waste Collection Point and engaged in cleaning the city's sewage network, had noticed suspicious signs indicating that fuel might have been taken from the work vehicle.
Immediately after the notification, the Sector Manager, together with the PM officer, appeared at the premises of the Waste Collection Point. After contacting the commander responsible for the army vehicles, security camera footage in the area where the truck was parked was obtained and verified.
From the verification of the video footage it results that the surveillance camera that covered this area was intentionally moved. A similar situation was also observed in another time interval. During these hours, the Municipal Police MJ was scheduled to be on duty.
According to his statement, the cameras were moved on the grounds that two employees of the cleaning company, with the initials AB and BH, had requested the cameras' view be moved to supply their vehicle with a can of diesel.
Following this case, the Municipal Police has initiated disciplinary proceedings against the MJ officer for violations during the performance of his duty, while administrative investigations continue to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident.
