A racial slur occurred on the sports show “Super Gol” on RTSH, where the African footballer of KF Burreli, Arnold Kwaku Siaw, became the object of ridicule between the moderator and the guests because of the color of his skin. The episode occurred during a live broadcast after the Burreli–Pogradeci match (2-0), in which Siaw scored a goal. Due to technical problems or poor focus on his figure, the footballer was not clearly visible on the screen, which caused laughter from the host of the show, Hygerta Sako, and the three panelists Ardi Behari, Gert Haxhiu and Klajdi Kola.
The climax of the situation came when panelist Gert Haxhiu made a comment with racist undertones, saying: “Thank you to RTSH for revealing it to us at the last moment, because it seemed like the stories of those people who don't want to talk.” Host Sako tried to salvage the situation, blaming the “RTSH LED” for the player's poor appearance.
But the Burrel club has reacted to the scandalous case, condemning the mockery through their Instagram page as "a shameful act of bullying with racist undertones."
"Such language, regardless of whether it is disguised as a 'joke', has no place in either sport or our society," the club emphasizes.
The club expressed its full support for the footballer, describing him as part of the "family" and a player who has earned the respect of the fans for his dedication and contribution on the field.
Burrel's coach, Samuel Nikaj, also commented on the situation with a strong message: "Some lose everything to maintain dignity. Others win everything, but sell their souls for a place at the table." The club demands that RTSH and the show's hosts take responsibility and publicly apologize to the player and the club.
