The price of bread in the city of Korça has increased significantly in recent days, reaching up to 150 lek for a loaf of bread.
According to citizens, until a few days ago, bread was sold for around 120 lek, while currently the price varies from 140 to 150 lek, depending on the bakery and the type of product.
Consumers say they have faced a sudden increase in costs at the points where they are supplied every day.
Meanwhile, this price increase comes shortly after the collapse of the Librazhd-Prrenjas axis, which led to the total isolation of the southeast. Owners of several bakeries have stated to the media that the price increase has come as a result of increased expenses. According to them, although the price of flour has not changed recently, other costs have increased, such as transportation or electricity.
