Urban transport service will return to normal.
An agreement has been reached between ministries and public transport operators on fuel subsidies. After a meeting that began in the early hours of the morning, it has been decided that transport will return to normal. Meanwhile, operators will benefit from subsidies. The amount will be determined in the coming days.
"We had a meeting with the Minister of Economy, the Minister of Infrastructure and the mayor, we agreed that transportation will return to normal and there will be a subsidy of Lek per liter, but the value will be under discussion.
From today, transportation will continue at full capacity, as operators also want to provide the service properly due to what was seen these two days.
"We will have another meeting next week to discuss other economic demands, such as VAT, excise duty, categories that travel for free," Dashnor Memaj, president of the Urban and Intercity Transport Association, told Monitor.
