The State Police has today presented the detailed plan of measures for the international match Albania-England, which will take place today at 18:00, at the "Air Albania" stadium.
Authorities announce that strong security measures have been taken before, during and after the match, in order to guarantee order and the smooth running of the activity.
The police have organized the escort and protection of the English footballers from Rinas Airport, to the hotel, to the stadium and back.
Detailed checks and public order throughout Tirana
-Thorough checks will be carried out at the stadium for unauthorized persons and prohibited items.
-The police warn that racist banners, fireworks, flares, pyrotechnic devices, metal coins, lighters, chargers, umbrellas, cosmetic products and hard objects will not be allowed at the entrance.
-Numerous patrols will be deployed throughout the capital to guarantee public peace.
Traffic restrictions in Tirana
From 2:00 PM until the end of the match, several roads near the stadium will be blocked:
Pope John Paul II, Dervish Hima, Asim Zeneli, Themistokli Gërmenji, Ismail Qemali, Mustafa Matohiti, Jul Variboba, Lekë Dukagjini, Avdyl Frashëri, Skerdilajd Llagami and Faik Konica.
Police also warn of criminal penalties:
Entry onto the field by unauthorized persons is punishable by a fine of 50,000 to 100,000 lek or up to 3 months in prison, if the match is impeded.
Throwing hard objects, fireworks, or flares is punishable by imprisonment from 6 months to 3 years.
Violence against athletes, coaches or referees is punishable by 1 to 3 years in prison; up to 5 years if repeated or committed by club personnel.
Entrance to the stadium and recommendation for fans
The gates of “Air Albania” open at 3:00 p.m. Police are appealing to fans to arrive early to avoid queues and the possibility of being left out shortly before the match.
For the complete security of the activity, hundreds of police officers have been engaged, in cooperation with the Albanian Football Association, UEFA, the Republic Guard, the Municipal Police, the fire department and health institutions.
The goal, according to authorities, is an incident-free match with high safety standards.
