Rising rent and food prices were the main components of inflation in November, which was 2.1% according to official INSTAT data.
The annual price increase in November was mainly influenced by the group "Rent, water, fuel and energy" with +0.81 percentage points, followed by the group "Food and non-alcoholic beverages" with +0.51 percentage points.
Also, prices of the group "Furniture, home furnishings and home maintenance" increased by +0.21 percentage points, prices of the group "Alcoholic beverages and tobacco" by +0.14 percentage points, prices of the group "Hotels, cafes and restaurants" by +0.13 percentage points, prices of the group "Miscellaneous goods and services" by +0.09 percentage points, prices of the group "Educational services" by +0.07 percentage points, prices of the group "Entertainment and culture" by +0.06 percentage points, prices of the group "Transport" by +0.05 percentage points, prices of the group "Communication" by +0.04 percentage points, prices of the groups "Clothing and footwear" and "Health" by +0.02 percentage points each.
Compared to November 2024, the largest price increase is observed in the group "Rent, water, fuel and energy" by 4.0%, followed by the groups "Alcoholic beverages and tobacco" by 2.9%, "Furniture, household equipment and home maintenance" by 2.8%, "Entertainment and culture" by 2.6%, "Hotels, cafes and restaurants" by 2.3%, "Educational services" by 1.9%, "Miscellaneous goods and services" by 1.6%, "Food and non-alcoholic beverages" by 1.5%, "Communication" by 1.3%, "Transport" by 0.8%, "Clothing and footwear" and "Health" by 0.6% each.
Within the food group, the prices of the subgroup "Milk, cheese and eggs" increased by 4.9%, followed by the subgroups "Oils and fats" by 4.6%, "Fish" by 3.3%, "Meat" by 2.9%, etc.
Compared to October 2025, prices in the "Entertainment and Culture" group decreased by 0.8%, followed by the "Clothing and Footwear" groups by 0.5%, "Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages" by 0.4%, and "Transportation" by 0.2%.
On the other hand, the prices of the groups "Communication" and "Furniture, home appliances and home maintenance" increased by 0.1% each.
