
The funeral chapel of Giorgio Armani, the undisputed master of Italian style, opened at 9:00 this morning at the Armani Theater, in Via Bergognone 59, Milan. However, since 7:00, hundreds of citizens had arrived to stand in line and pay their last respects to the fashion icon. The chapel will remain open to visitors throughout today and tomorrow, Sunday 7 September, until 18:00. The atmosphere in Via Bergognone is filled with admirers, tourists and citizens who have come to pay their respects to “King George”. To facilitate entry, two lines have been created: one reserved for Giorgio Armani employees and the other for the general public.
Among the first figures to pay tribute today were the mayor of Milan, Beppe Sala, the president of Stellantis, John Elkann along with his wife Lavinia, the president of the Italian Basketball Federation, Gianni Petrucci, and the coach of Olimpia Milano, Gianni Messina.
Milan, but also the entire world, is saying its final farewell today to one of the greatest icons of world fashion.
