The SelfCare program function, managed through E-Albania, has become a never-ending nightmare for businesses.
Even today, businesses have reported that it is out of order, after working for several days. Many economists were forced to work over the weekend when they could access the program, albeit with difficulty, but Monday seems to have increased the load and economists are now seeing the note on the screen: “You need to access: https:/-/e-albania.al/”
At least since January 20, economists have been facing an absurd situation that does not allow them to take many actions on the SelfCare platform, which is an essential tool for the functioning of the fiscal and administrative system.
"It became really tiring and the stress element is not even taken into account. This is an article that the media should write and publish. For example, just reading the group's SMS today, even though I haven't tried the platform, I have a lack of desire to work, you who have experienced it. The only good thing is that we talk in a group and it's like a joint therapy to keep morale and humor high. We even conducted a survey about this.
What the other party considers as a whim and a disruption of our comfort, this complaint of ours, is "life" itself. It is not like the lack of a phone when there is no signal, but it is our own work and our own time. We have doubled the time spent processing and halved our free time. I am very sorry that we are experiencing all this as if we are part of some experiment," says Arbërore, an economist.
The malfunctioning of the SelfCare system blocks the work of many businesses, including natural persons who can issue fiscalized invoices, non-fiscalization of customs declarations on time for importers, and address changes cannot be made in the electronic certificate if an error has been provided.
"We have become like guards, who sit and track when the system is working, so that we can come in and take some action, or we come in at night when the system is less busy," says an economist.
The malfunction of SelfCare also hindered the work of businesses that were supposed to submit their declarations on January 31, forcing the Tax Department to extend the deadline to February 20.
This is a busy period for accountants, who must close the annual balance sheets and SelfCare is the main basis for reconciliations.
"The malfunctioning of SelfCare is also preventing us from declaring VAT for January," adds an economist.
According to the Alliance of Free Professionals (APL), blockages have direct consequences in terms of work interruptions and delays in billing and collections; Increased risk of errors and inconsistencies in documentation; Additional operational costs (time, staff, technical support, loss of customers); Exposure to fines and penalties for deadlines that businesses do not control; Damage to trust in the process and in the formalization of the market with fiscalization./Monitor.al/
