The concern that Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has repeatedly expressed regarding the security agreement sealed some time ago between it, Albania and Kosovo does not convince Croatia at all.
The Croatian Defense Ministry has openly conveyed its belief that the trilateral agreement is being deliberately misinterpreted by Belgrade. Zagreb officials have pointed out that Minister Ivan Anusic has clarified that the document does not relate to combat activities, but serves as a framework for technical cooperation, knowledge exchange and coordination between defense industries for regional stability.
The ministry’s statement also mentions the 2010 pact between Serbia and Croatia, noting that the Serbian president is deliberately not mentioning this document, which is more comprehensive and detailed than the trilateral Croatia-Albania-Kosovo declaration. The ministry explained to the media in Pristina that “their activities are focused solely on supporting Albania and Kosovo’s path towards European and transatlantic institutions.”
She also stressed that Croatia, as a sovereign member of NATO and the EU, pursues its own independent policy and remains committed to transparent regional cooperation. Regarding Vučić's warnings about further arming Serbia, Ivan Anušić has made it clear that his country is not at all concerned by such statements.
The Albanian Ministry of Defense itself has announced that any information on the trilateral agreement is public and available on the ministry's official website, while NATO has asked Serbia to act responsibly towards the alliance and its neighbors.
