The United States Embassy in Tirana announced in a social media post that its representatives recently met with newly elected members of the Albanian Parliament, ahead of the start of the new legislature.
According to the embassy, these meetings were aimed at better understanding the concerns and priorities of the communities each MP represents.
“We look forward to working with elected representatives from across the political spectrum to continue our close partnership with Albania,” the post reads.
The photos published by the US embassy show new MPs, where Besart Xhaferri and Igli Cara were brought from the DP, who secured the mandate from the closed list. In fact, the two Democrats are not young either in age or in politics, which reflects the shortcomings of the DP with new names.
While the Socialists had sent as a representative only Ilva Gjuzi, the MP who secured the mandate and career in the SP after the praise she heaped on Prime Minister Rama.
The August holidays have likely left out of this meeting the two most prominent young SP MPs, Zegjine Çaushin and Sara Milen. But September is not far away, and the young talents of the political parties will have the opportunity to showcase their skills in politics.
