The MP of the Democratic Party, Gazment Bardhi, at the same time the political leader of the Fier district, has published today on social networks a denunciation regarding the May 11 elections, which he describes as an “electoral farce” organized by the Socialist Party in the Fier district.
According to Bardhi, in the Dushk Administrative Unit, Lushnje Municipality (VC 2817), a criminal mechanism of vote control was applied by commissioners and observers of the SP, with the aim of exerting pressure on voters. He emphasizes that any citizen who attempted to vote alone, unaccompanied, became the object of manipulation: the votes were taken out of the box to illegally verify their preference. The denunciation is accompanied by footage from the polling station cameras, which, according to Bardhi, document flagrant violations of the electoral law.
“This is a serious electoral crime, which has remained unpunished due to the inaction of responsible institutions such as the CEC, the General Prosecutor's Office and SPAK. The Task Force established to protect the elections has resulted in a spectacle without real effect,” Bardhi declared in his reaction.
He says that Albania cannot move forward on the path towards European integration without guaranteeing free, fair and equal elections, adding that the May 11 process has not met any of these standards.
