The Socialist Party is preparing to take on the position of Ombudsman, defying the tradition that this name had to be proposed by the opposition. For the first time, the competition for this post will be opened in the Assembly, but with 83 votes in favor from the majority, the SP does not intend to accept conditions from the opposition.
At the same time, the Socialist Party is showing a more open approach to Electoral Reform. The leader of the Socialist parliamentary group, Taulant Balla, has offered cooperation in discussing the equality of members in the Special Committee on Electoral Reform, inviting the opposition to dialogue at the Conference of Speakers to be held on Wednesday. However, this tolerance does not extend to the Special Committee on Territorial Reform, where the majority is not giving up its position.
