There are 334,539 citizens with the right to vote who will participate tomorrow in the partial elections for mayors in five municipalities of the country: Vlorë, Berat, Cërrik, Mat and Tepelena. The voting process begins at 07:00 in the morning, in accordance with the provisions of the Electoral Code, and the voting centers will close at 18:00.
The Central Election Commission has already distributed election materials and ballot boxes to all CEAZs established in the municipalities where the elections will be held.
According to official data for each municipality:
Vlorë: 171,895 voters in 232 polling centers. Tepelena: 12,667 voters in 22 polling centers.
Mat: 29,092 voters in 47 polling centers.
Cerrik: 38,724 voters in 57 polling centers.
Berat: 82,161 voters in 116 polling centers.
A total of 13 candidates have registered in the race to replace the five mayors who were elected MPs or ministers (as in the case of Andis Salla in Cërrik). The campaign for these by-elections has passed without much noise and without protagonism, without rallies or electoral meetings where the leaders of the main parties were present.
Unlike other times, the Democratic Party has not had candidates registered under its own logo or that of any other opposition party, although they have expressed support for several independent candidates in this race.
If you want, I can also make a version almost ready for publication in an online newspaper with a slightly more fluent, but still formal style. Do you want me to make this version?
