Gazment Bardhi, the leader of the Democratic Party Parliamentary Group, has been suspended from the proceedings of the Assembly for 15 days. The decision was taken today by the Ethics Secretariat, following a request submitted by the Socialist Party.
Initially, the SP had requested a 30-day exemption for Bardhi, but the Secretariat decided to apply the measure of 15 days.
Bardhi is accused by the majority of insulting the Speaker of the Assembly, Niko Peleshi. During the last plenary session, he addressed Peleshi, calling him “incompetent.” After Peleshi’s decision to expel him from the session, Bardhi refused to leave the hall.
