Many of the threats he received, Sigfrido Ranucci has never made public. There were people who followed him, filmed him, a kind of persecution and compilation of files against him. His life has been under state protection for years. Since 2009 he has been placed under protection, after he had conducted an investigation in Sicily into a sand quarry run by a mafia clan from Catania. "The Ercolano family had asked a dangerous person to keep me under surveillance," he said.
Two years later, the situation worsened. "A drug trafficker linked to the 'Ndrangheta and Pablo Escobar's Colombian cartel had ordered two Albanian assassins to eliminate me. He didn't like a report I had done on the links between politics and organized crime."
Then, the assassination attempt of October 16, another difficult moment in his life.
In previous interviews, Ranucci has stated:
"Sometimes a journalistic investigation is stronger than a court case that lasts for years. There is the pressure of broadcasting during prime time, the constant stress, preliminary reports, managing an entire team, phone calls before, during and after the show... I lead a tiring life, sometimes unbearable, but I feel lucky. I consider this job the most beautiful in the world."

On Friday, two powerful explosions were recorded in the early hours of the morning in the outskirts of Rome, fortunately without causing any injuries.
According to police reports, two quantities of explosives were placed in the car of journalist Sigfrido Ranucci, presenter of the Report show, and his daughter, while the vehicles were parked in front of their home in Campo Ascolano.
