After MP Bujar Leskaj, Democratic MP Besart Xhaferaj has also "broken" the order of the DP chairman and participated in the rally in support of the KLA leaders. Present among the protesters, Xhaferaj declared that his participation has no political background and does not constitute a violation of the party's order.
"Not at all! I have come as a citizen, as Besart Xhaferaj, as a citizen of the Albanian nation. I do not think this is a political manifestation; it is a protest against the accusations made against the just struggle of the Albanian nation for the liberation of Kosovo," he told the media.
The Democratic MP added that this is a cause that belongs to all Albanians, beyond any party affiliation:
"Anyone who tries to give this event a political or electoral color, I believe, is making a big mistake. This should be a common cause: the Kosovo war is what opened and marked the Albanian century – the 21st century."
