The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, defended Judge Sonila Bejtja at today's media conference, attacking yesterday's decision of the Constitutional Court to terminate her mandate. Berisha stated that with this action, the Constitutional Court has violated the law.
The leader of the Democratic Party did not spare the President of the Supreme Court, Sokol Sadushi, whom he described as the main exponent of the mafia in Albanian justice.
"The Constitutional Court ruled on the violation of its own law. It became a notary of a series of unconstitutional and illegal actions of the most prominent exponent of the mafia in Albanian justice, named Sokol Sadushi, and of the unconstitutional president. Sonila Bejtja, a judge appointed in 2020 by decree of President Meta, is the subject of the Constitutional Court's decision to terminate her mandate. The content of Article 125, point 6 of the Constitution, determines that the composition of the Constitutional Court is renewed every three years by one third of it," Berisha said.
Moreover, the chief democrat did not worry about the two standards he publicly upholds when his "puppets" in the highest court in the country are affected. The hypocrisy lies in the fact that just a few weeks ago, when the Constitutional Court overturned Begaj's decree on the elections in the Municipality of Tirana, Berisha came out in a statement to the media and declared this institution as the protector of the constitutional order.
"They defended the Constitution from its enemies, from the villains of the state. They put the seal of shame on Edi Rama, his puppet president, and all those who were involved in this unconstitutional act," Berisha declared.
