Sali Berisha has announced a new phase of "digital discipline" within the Democratic Party. In a meeting with branch leaders, he asked local leaders to use social networks more intensively and even download artificial intelligence applications, such as ChatGPT or Gemini, to confront - according to him - government propaganda.
Berisha said that the use of social networks should no longer remain a personal choice for leaders of structures, but a political obligation. According to him, this will even be controlled.
"Now that we are open, the use of social networks will be controlled. You use them or you don't use them. It is an obligation for the one who leads and has a position. Otherwise, he should remain silent," said Berisha.
He argued that the opposition is in a difficult battle and must use every legitimate means to denounce, according to him, the government's scandals. In this context, the democratic leader accused Prime Minister Edi Rama of controlling most of the media.
"We are in a difficult battle. We must use every legitimate means. You cannot imagine what manipulation Rama does with 90 percent of the media, with lists," he said.
Essentially, Berisha's message to his leaders was clear: in today's politics, activity on the ground alone is not enough. Now activity on Facebook, X or other platforms is also required – and if necessary, even with the help of artificial intelligence. After all, even the political battle seems to be increasingly becoming a battle of algorithms.
