The electoral farce and the government's lack of recognition, apparently, are now part of the past in the DP's rhetoric, while today they are thinking about how to find a solution to the warning given by the majority that if there are disturbances in the Assembly, they will participate only to vote on laws, without holding discussions on the floor.
This was also the main topic at the meeting of the Democratic Party parliamentary group leadership, where some MPs proposed responding with radicalization of the opposition action. The proposals ranged from seclusion in Parliament, rescheduling Thursday's session, to filing a lawsuit with the Constitutional Court against President Bajram Begaj's decree.
Sali Berisha has proposed a request for a repeat of the session and a motion for the dismissal of Minister Niko Peleshi.
"I think we should request a repeat of the session and also request a motion for dismissal for Niko Peleshi, as he has violated the Constitution," said the leader of the Democratic Party.
More specific in his stance was MP Ramadan Likaj, who told Berisha to his face about the two contradictory positions of the opposition. According to him, although the DP leader had been articulating the idea of an electoral farce for three months, the leadership made a decision to enter the Assembly, which he considered "nonsense."
Likaj proposed that the opposition's action should not exclude the surrender of mandates.
"You, doctor, have been talking about the electoral farce for three months, yet the presidency met and decided that we should enter the Assembly. It is nonsense, we do not recognize the elections, and yet we go to Parliament. The media and the electorate attacked us for this. Now we must address the electorate: either hand over the mandates, or all together, we and our supporters, enter an irreversible path, until Edi Rama leaves. I am not here for the MP's salary," said Likaj.
The most radical in their stances were MPs Belind Këlliçi, Gjin Gjoni and Saimir Korreshi, who also proposed a hunger strike in Parliament.
"We will have to have a radicalization of political action, inside and outside Parliament, without ruling out a hunger strike or the isolation of MPs in Parliament," said Këlliçi.
Meanwhile, Gjoni, in addition to isolation in Parliament, has also proposed diaspora protests in front of embassies.
"One idea could be a blockade of the Albanian Parliament or a hunger strike. We should also work for strong protests. We should surround the Albanian Parliament, but also the Presidency of the Parliament. The diaspora should also protest in front of embassies. There can be no normality with this government," Gjoni said.
Korreshi was also in the same line, stating that "I am in favor of isolation in the Albanian Parliament. I also believe in action in the Presidency of the Parliament. If Peleshi does not reverse the decision, then we will be isolated," he said.
Meanwhile, MPs Ina Zhupa and Ivi Kaso also saw the problem in Bajram Begaj's decree, for which they stated that a lawsuit should be filed with the Constitutional Court.
