Ilir Meta reacted from the detention of the "Jordan Misja" IEVP, stating that his physical, health and mental condition is "better than ever", despite the restrictions that, according to him, have been in place since July 2025.
In part of what he calls an "uninterrupted self-interview" with journalist Dafina Hysa, Meta also mocks public comments about his physical condition and claims that he has been left without food.
"My physical, health and mental state is better than ever... If the big suit fits me, it has nothing to do with the fact that they left me without food, as has been said, but with my physical activity that takes me at least four hours a day," he says.
Meta says that he does physical exercises every day, especially for the abdominal muscles, while emphasizing that his diet is very healthy thanks to the care of his family.
In response, he also ironizes life in detention, saying that he remains the "absolute ping-pong champion," while the runner-up is a 30-year-old who was previously a footballer.
The former president also dwells on the trial against him, criticizing the decisions of the Special Court and demanding that the trial be broadcast live to the public.
According to Meta, the transparency of the process would allow citizens to hear for themselves the accusations and evidence presented in court.
At the end of the reaction, he raises another question for the authorities of the "Jordan Misja" Penitentiary Institution, seeking clarification on why, according to him, incorrect information was provided to the Albanian Helsinki Committee regarding the conditions of his treatment.
