New details have been made public after the end of the SP parliamentary group meeting. VNA learns that the clash between Prime Minister Edi Rama and Elisa Spiropali was much more intense than initially reported.
According to sources, during the debate, Spiropali addressed Rama with the question: "Do you have the authority to expel me?" The Prime Minister replied: "You are causing it yourself."
After that, the two politicians approached and debated face to face in a moment of tension that attracted the attention of all the deputies present in the hall.
Sources indicate that at the end of the meeting, Spiropali asked for water, but for a few moments no one offered her any. She then asked MP Tërmet Peçi for water, who gave her his bottle.
The tension was also reflected during the lunch that followed the meeting. According to the same sources, Spiropali was left alone at the table, while only Holta Xhaçka exchanged a few words with him.
Meanwhile, on the other side, Belinda Balluku was seen gathering around 20 MPs at her table, an action that some have interpreted as a political signal within the parliamentary group.
The event has further increased rumors of tensions and dissatisfaction within the Socialist Party, while it remains to be seen whether this clash will bring further consequences to relations within the parliamentary group.
