Ilir Meta had called on embassies and internationals to closely follow his trial, which began today on merits. But there were no foreign representatives in the courtroom, leaving the leader of the Freedom Party in the lurch.
The Secretary General of this party was asked by journalist Armand Bajrami how he commented on the boycott of internationals, but Tedi Blushi tried to avoid the bitter fact that no one came to Meta's side.
"I am not and have not been a spokesperson for embassies. But I am proud to have been the spokesperson for the President of the Republic of Albania, of a fortress that did everything it could at that time to guarantee the independence of a judicial system, which, you saw today what standards it has. We have a duty to invite everyone, those who have been deceived or preferred to be deceived. It is unacceptable, it is irritating, that a process of this level is bunkerized.
"The goal is to prevent the real reasons for that geopolitical arrest from coming to light," said Tedi Blushi, among other things.
