After the strong clash in the DP leadership, it now appears that the division has reached the party's base. A crisis that is becoming more clearly evident in the process of internal party elections.
The latest to leave the party structures is the chairman of the DP Fier branch, Rrapi Gjika, who, through a long message in the WhatsApp group "Departments of the DP", expressed disappointment with the names selected to lead the working group for electoral and organizational processes in this branch.
Gjika, among other things, states that Ardian Ferro has been appointed as the head of this group, who, according to him, was against the Re-establishment and shouted in the streets "down with non grata". He emphasizes that no member of the DP Fier branch was asked about Ferro's appointment, while adding that the branch is being led by people who were against the re-establishment and against Sali Berisha, "who tore down the door of the DP, took our offices, cursed at us every day, telling us that you are all 'non grata'".
Describing this decision as unfair and "a stinking shame", Gjika states that these are part of the bargains cooked up by bargain hunters who deal in dirty work, just like before the elections with Alibashë, Gaz Bardhi and others.
Rrapi Gjika's full message:
Dear colleagues in the leadership of the Democratic Party of Fier,
Today I feel more disappointed than ever and I regret these words that I am about to say, but I am forced by the situation that is being created and by this unexpected and shameful announcement that has been sent.
I, as you know, was elected with your votes and I tried to do my job as well as possible. I tried to give my best. Maybe I had shortcomings and we could have worked better, but the important thing is that I gave my maximum and I did the job with my heart, as I am a democrat from the first hours and with continuous contributions to the DP.
For the good of the DP and for its renewal, I myself accepted and told you, among other things, that I should no longer run for branch president, to pave the way for young people and for the renewal of the party, also given the poor result of the May 11 elections, which was not our fault, but that of those who made the lists and led the campaign. However, I would continue to contribute and lead the DP Fier for the electoral process until the end, as in any other branch in the country, to be above the parties and equal for all.
I have not resigned, as I have not been asked to do so. If I had been asked, I would have done so. I have said that I will not run again, to help the party and my colleagues who would run. I have also informed this to the MP for Fier, member of the DPA Presidency and former chairman of the Fier branch, Luan Baçi, about whom I do not understand why he is silent now after this announcement.
The decision of the DP Presidency to appoint as chairman of the DP Fier, without asking anyone, a person who previously shouted in the streets "down with him, non grata" and who will now lead or run, or support what they have been preparing for a long time by bargaining with him, is unjust and a dishonest act. It is a shame that stinks.
Even more so when people who were against the re-establishment and against Sali Berisha, who tore down the door of the DP, took our offices, cursed at us every day, telling us that you are all "non grata", while we held meetings in bars, while they stayed in our offices, are being placed at the head of the branch.
Perhaps Sali Berisha is unaware. The working group has included more people who have not been active at all and who have been against the re-establishment, and have even harmed us a lot. The majority of the chairmen and secretaries of the group sections, who have held the greatest weight during this time, as well as many members of the Presidency of the re-establishment, have not been included in the working group.
Maybe they'll put them up now, to make fun of them, until they finish what they started.
So this work is very wrong and smells like a bargain cooked up by bargain hunters who deal in dirty work, just like before the elections with Alibasha, Gaz Bardhi and others.
I apologize for any misunderstanding or dissatisfaction I may have caused any of you, and I thank you with all my heart for the work we have done together and for supporting each other. But I cannot continue to be an active part of this work, which stinks and I do not understand why it is being done this way.
With respect,
Gjika plane tree
