The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, declared that Prime Minister Edi Rama cannot influence the election of the leader of this political force, while the DP is preparing for its internal electoral process.
During a communication with followers, Berisha emphasized that the party is in a phase of reorganization and renewal, describing this as one of the most democratic processes that the DP has gone through.
"The DP is in a process of reorganization, renewal, the most democratic it has ever known. The DP has a competition in which everyone is invited to participate, but there is one condition: Edi Rama will never be able to determine the leader of this party," he said.
Berisha added that every member of the Democratic Party is welcome to become part of the race, while emphasizing the importance of the Democrats' vote in this process.
"Every democrat is welcome to run and take the position. A lot of work is being done to create space for young people, but the leader of this party will be appointed only by the democrats with their votes and never by anyone else," Berisha declared.
