The leader of the Agrarian Environmentalist Party, Agron Duka, has left open the possibility of running for mayor of Durrës in the 2027 local elections, emphasizing that the decision will depend on the circumstances and real chances of victory.
Duka said that the opposition has the potential to win a number of municipalities, but this depends mainly on the selection of candidates who enjoy the trust of the citizens. He admitted that currently the situation is not in favor of the opposition as a whole, however, he mentioned Kavaja as positive cases and the possibility of a good result in Durrës as well.
Asked if he would accept an invitation from the opposition to run, Duka stressed that he does not rule out any option, underlining that he could also run under the banner of the Agrarian Environmentalist Party.
"I have my own political strength. If I see that there is a chance of winning, I can also run as a representative of my party. It could even be more successful, as it could be an alternative against both parties," he said.
