DP MP Belind Këlliçi has continued his denunciations regarding the licensing procedures of "Jet Bank", officially requesting clarifications from the Bank of Albania on the integrity of the process.
Through a letter addressed to the Governor of the Bank of Albania, Gent Sejko, Këlliçi raises concerns about the lack of transparency, emphasizing that this is the third time he has addressed the institution without receiving, according to him, a full and exhaustive response.
According to documents published by the MP, the shareholder structure and management of "Jet Bank" have undergone several changes within a short period of time, before and after receiving preliminary approval for licensing from the Bank of Albania in December 2025.
Këlliçi brings to attention that the bank was initially registered in July 2025, with the sole shareholder being Israeli citizen Idan Avishai, while later, in January 2026, the shares were transferred 100% to the company Jet Holdings BV, registered in the Netherlands.
In his letter, the DP MP raises a series of questions to the Bank of Albania, including the moment of the application for licensing, the identification of shareholders at that stage, as well as the time when the institution was informed about the changes in the ownership structure.
He also seeks clarification on the verifications carried out on members of the board of directors, including citizen Oliver Hemmer, who is alleged to have had connections to companies involved in suspected international fraud cases.
Këlliçi further raises questions about the compatibility of the licensing process with the domestic and European legal framework, taking into account Albania's integration process into the European Union and international assessments in the field of money laundering (MONEYVAL).
The MP also requested clarification on whether European institutions have been made aware of this case and whether the procedure followed could affect Albania's future assessments in the negotiation process.
At the end of the letter, Këlliçi asks the Bank of Albania to conduct in-depth verifications and provide public transparency on the licensing process and the control exercised over shareholders and related parties.
