Monika Kryemadhi reacted on the show "The Unexposed" on MCN TV after the first session of the trial on the merits against her, Ilir Meta and the other defendants. She made strong statements about the process, calling it "unfair" and accusing the court of acting as a "servant of SPAK."
The Chief Justice also focused on the way the hearing was conducted, saying that the process was accompanied by procedural problems and deliberate delays.
"Today's trial had two issues. It's not that my mother and lawyer were absent, but she had requested a summary trial and separation from the case. The judge had found that the notarial statement did not include a request for a summary trial. This was used as a reason to suspend the deadlines for Meta and to postpone the process, since the prosecution was not ready either. The deadlines for suspension and imprisonment are not being recognized," said Kryemadhi.
According to her, the way the process is unfolding shows that we are not dealing with a normal trial.
"If Mr. Meta's lawyer is absent, it is a problem, but if another defendant is absent, it is not an obstacle. The problem is that we do not have a judicial process that seeks justice. We do not even have a public trial. There are problems with the entire file and with the procedures, which make it very difficult to obtain evidence that could exonerate you, while those that are thought to be incriminating are kept in the file," she said.
Kryemadhi also stated that there is currently no communication with Ilir Meta.
"No, I don't speak to Mr. Meta. I have zero communication with him. I only speak during the court process for my defense. The lawyer has received the files on the CEZ-DIA case, as it is also built on newspaper articles. The rest is related to my family relationship with my mother, who is alleged to be in collaboration with Mr. Meta," she said.
She also mentioned several cases that, according to her, show the absurdity of the accusations.
"When I made an intervention and paid 5 thousand euros in cash, which I did not declare, it is claimed that this constitutes Meta's collaboration with me in a criminal offense. There are ridiculous absurdities. Even the cage story is normal, because Meta needs to communicate with the lawyer about the CEZ-DIA case. It is thick glass and it is difficult to hear," said Kryemadhi.
Commenting on the reactions to Ilir Meta's appearance in court, Kryemadhi said that he looks like a political prisoner.
"Meta has the appearance of a political prisoner. They have dealt with the issue of his appearance, but he was very strong today with the speech he gave. Meanwhile, a hired killer appears on the air for two hours a day, while Meta is only shown for 20 minutes. Are they trying to undo him? Absolutely. Meta's removal from politics and his demystification is the goal," she declared.
Finally, Kryemadhi added that according to her, the opposition has not reacted properly to this process, claiming that today oppositionism has turned into a profitable business.
"Today you have the richest MPs in the opposition. They are happy and say that by keeping Meta in prison they are not dealing with us. It is enough to see the reactions and you understand what is happening," concluded Kryemadhi.
