Ervin Salianji explained on the show "Opinion" that he has no intention of leaving the Democratic Party or creating a new party. He emphasized that communication with Sali Berisha is free and open, while meetings with the Democrats are a necessary part of a party that seeks change.
"Nothing prevents me from communicating with Berisha. I have this opinion, there may be another opinion. Let's listen to the people, what do they think. Where in the statute is it forbidden to meet with the Democrats? The DP must bring change. With this movement, the DP has come out of its comfort zone. And thank goodness there is an event to improve it. We will be here, we will come again," he said.
Asked about the April internal elections, Salianji denied that he is aiming for a leadership position and said that he has communicated all the problems he has identified to Berisha, both in leadership meetings and publicly.
"Berisha told me that we will change and find a solution. I have said this in every meeting of the presidency, I have also said it in public," he said.
Salianji added that his dissatisfaction is not related to specific individuals, but to the way the DP is functioning and making decisions.
"I am dissatisfied with the situation, I am not dissatisfied with the names. Dissatisfaction with the DP is that it is not listening to the voice of the membership in the right way. It is not adapting to the needs of society for change. Because the membership votes for some, the leadership elects others. Because the membership of the DP requires revolt, we make speeches. Because the membership of the DP requires analysis, because we want to convince them that the elections were stolen. There is no need, everyone is convinced that the elections were stolen. I am dissatisfied with the ideas and decision-making, I am not dissatisfied with the names," he emphasized.
