Prime Minister Edi Rama has presented the Startup Albania project, where he emphasized the role of technology and artificial intelligence in the transformation of public services. The spotlight was on virtual minister Diella.
"I am the Sun and I may be artificial, but there is nothing artificial about our purpose," said the new virtual minister during the opening of the event.
Rama stressed that Diella will not make political decisions, but will help the government by processing data and providing quick solutions.
“People who have a different opinion do not understand that the AI minister will not make decisions for us. We make the decisions. She will do what she knows best: process data quickly and provide immediate answers,” Rama said, adding with humor: “We have stolen the spotlight with this minister, but very soon she will be on TV talking to journalists as well.”
The Prime Minister linked the role of technology to the transformation of citizens' daily lives, recalling that in the past, people waited in lines for hours and were often forced to pay bribes for a certificate. Today, according to him, most services are provided by telephone.
Amidst the humor, Rama also spoke about online marriages and divorces:
"We still haven't solved the problem of online marriages, we need witnesses. Maybe we can do it. What about online divorces? I strongly believe so, because I've had a few, they're simpler - they're done on WhatsApp and then formalized in the courtroom," he said.
