In an interview with A2 CNN, Socialist Party MP Blendi Klosi said that the elections for the Tirana municipality are expected to take place in mid-December, on the eve of the end-of-year holidays.
"If the elections were tomorrow, we would be ready. The sooner the date is set, the better for the citizens," declared Klosi, emphasizing that the Socialist Party is preparing for the race without waiting for the final decision of the Constitutional Court, which temporarily suspended President Begaj's decree.
According to him, the SP structures are on the ground to listen to the needs of citizens and to be ready as soon as the official election date is announced. “This year should find Tirana with a new mayor. The city needs a complete direction and to move forward with the transformational projects that have been left pending,” he added, underlining that for the socialists, the date is not important, but the preparation and commitment to win the race.
