The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, welcomed the stance of candidate Florian Binaj, who said that he will not campaign with the leaders of the opposition parties that support him. Berisha even explained Binaj's stance in detail as to why he is right, explaining the difference between an independent candidate and one proposed by political parties.
"I fully welcome this statement. There is a group, a stream that really cannot realize the difference between an independent candidate supported by political parties and a non-partisan candidate proposed by political parties. A non-partisan candidate proposed by political parties is a candidate of a political party. An independent candidate who runs independently but political parties find suitable to support is in the best interest of the citizens, absolutely. If he is independent, he does not have to do any campaigning with party leaders. But party leaders will engage with all their might to mobilize the party electorate to vote for him," said Berisha.
The leader of the DP also reiterated the merits of supporting Florian Binaj, saying that it took a week to find the right model.
"For a week in a row I have been dealing with the issue of the model precisely for transparency. And not all people realize the model. Then the malicious, malicious current which is enraged by the fact that this independent candidate has the premises to have broad support in the undecided Albanian electorate, gray even if of the widest possible spectrum," said Berisha.
