Independent candidate for the Municipality of Tirana, Florian Binaj, in an interview with Top Story, also spoke about the photos circulating with Edi Rama and Erion Veliaj, clarifying the circumstances in which they were taken.
"I took a picture with Rama at a FRESSH event. At that time, everyone was saying that Rama was the only solution that could save the country. Being his imitator, I did a skit and then there was a moment where he gave me a tangerine. I had my last meeting with Rama in 2015; since then I have not met him or spoken to him. We believed in him at that time, because we had not tried it yet, but then I was disappointed with what happened," Binaj said.
Regarding the photo with Erion Veliaj, the actor explained that it dates back to around 2014–2015, when Veliaj was still a minister.
"I have the photo with Veliaj either in 2014 or 2015. A lady who worked in the reception office of the elderly took me and invited me to an activity where I served food for the elderly. While I was there, suddenly Veliaj appeared and said 'quick, a photo'. I didn't know he was there, and I didn't know how to react otherwise. Plus, at that time he wasn't who he is today, he hadn't yet done what he did later. After that, I was never with him again," Binaj declared.
