Following the reaction of the German Embassy in Tirana, which condemned the acts of violence at the opposition protest, DP leader Sali Berisha has a completely different version of events: according to him, there was no violence.
Speaking to the media, Berisha said that there were only injured demonstrators and no police officers at the protest, using this as an argument to deny any act of violence by the protesters.
"We are determined for a peaceful uprising. But I can say one thing: if in this protest there were dozens of demonstrators injured by police violence, there has not been a single police officer injured to date," he declared.
The leader of the Democrat Party stressed that the opposition will continue the protests under the motto of "peaceful uprising", maintaining that responsibility for the tensions in the protest lies with the police.
