Socialist Party MP Erion Braçe today criticized several state institutions, including the Ministry of Agriculture, for the lack of responses to requests for information that he had submitted within the framework of interpellations with members of the government cabinet.
During his speech at the parliamentary session, Braçe stated that the legal deadlines for returning responses from institutions such as the Ministry of Interior, the Municipality of Tirana, the Financial Supervisory Authority and the National Food Authority had expired without any official reaction. According to him, these requests are related to one interpellation with the Minister of Interior, two interpellations with the Minister of Infrastructure and one with the Minister of Agriculture.
Brace added that the Minister of Agriculture had also refused to conduct the interpellation with the argument of lack of competence.
The Socialist MP stated that the law on veterinary services charges the Ministry of Agriculture with responsibility for issues related to companion and abandoned animals, including their health and treatment. He also requested clarification on the controls exercised over local government bodies on this issue.
In conclusion, Braçe warned that if institutions continue to fail to respond to requests for information, then the function of interpellations and parliamentary control over the executive is called into question.
While it is worth noting, when a majority MP encounters obstacles and negligence, what can be said about an ordinary citizen receiving answers or solutions from public institutions.
